Found this when Online backup failed & after checking the shadow Copy Storage (vssadmin list shadowstorage in cmd), the storage was still very full, manually deleted shadow copies by going doing this in cmd:

diskshadow

delete shadows all

Checking the shadowstorage again after that and it showed that it has cleared out the shadows fully.
